I leave you this fine evening with a column by Susan Estrich. According to Estrich, if Barack Obama loses to John McCain, then many people who told pollsters that they intended to vote for Obama did not, in fact, intend to vote for Obama. Logically, there are at least two reasons to lie in this way:
1. The liars are racists and don't want the pollsters to know it.
2. The liars are not racists, but are afraid the pollsters will think they are if they say they're not going to vote for Obama.
Estrich doesn't even mention the second reason, which strikes me as far more plausible than the first, given the racially charged atmosphere created by progressives in recent years. Either she's stupid or she's intellectually dishonest, and she's not stupid.
