Another one-to-many spelling-to-pronunciation transformation is illustrated by words ending in "-inger". The can be partitioned into three pronunciation classes:
(1) /INGer/ bringer, clinger, dinger, flinger, pinger, ringer, singer, slinger, stinger, winger, wringer, zinger, Laura Schlessinger
(2) /INGgher/ finger, linger
(3) /INjer/ binger, cringer, fringer, ginger, hinger, impinger, tinger, whinger, Arthur Schlessinger, Henry Kissinger
