There's a playoff atmosphere in Arlington, where the Texas Rangers host their division rival, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, this weekend. The first game, which is sold out, and which starts in just over two hours, pits former Rangers ace (and now Angel) C. J. Wilson against Japanese import Yu Darvish. Wilson wore out his welcome in Arlington. In 2011, he lost not only the All-Star game, but one Division Series game, one League Championship game, and one World Series game. The man can't pitch in clutch situations. Darvish, by contrast, is Mr Clutch. I expect a close game, with the Rangers prevailing. Look for Michael Young and Adrian Beltre to take Wilson deep. Look for Albert Pujols to strike out three times. The Rangers need to take two of three games this weekend. Anything less is unacceptable.
