Re “Missed Chance” (editorial, May 2):
The only “missed chance” is your editorial’s failure to laud President Obama for yet another foreign policy triumph. After killing Osama bin Laden, which the Bush administration failed to do in eight years, and all but dismantling Al Qaeda, Mr. Obama has set America on a course to end the war in Afghanistan, while giving hope to the people of that nation that they will not be abandoned and left to the mercy of the Taliban.
Mr. Obama is such a strong leader that his foes in the Republican Party have been forced to lie about his accomplishments in an effort to mislead the public into thinking that he is weak and indecisive. At home and around the world, Mr. Obama is a transformational leader in what is surely one of the most transformational periods in our history.
