I pay 8.25% sales tax in Dallas/Fort Worth. Katherine and I just returned from a vacation in Illinois. The sales tax at a restaurant in Streamwood was 11.25% ($3.85 on a bill of $34.20). I'm shocked that Illinoisans put up with such gouging. What's the sales tax in your neck o' the woods?
