Armadillo on the bike trail.
Addendum: I've always wanted a bike ride from my Fort Worth house, so that I don't have to pack the bike in the car and drive somewhere. Recently, I discovered that if I ride my bike 2.5 miles to the Village Creek Historical Area, I can ride the trail for another 11.5 miles, unmolested by motor vehicles, stop signs, or stop lights. Today, for example, I rode 13.99 miles to the end of the trail in River Legacy Parks in Arlington. The return trip gave me 28.02 miles. I averaged 17.08 miles per hour (elapsed time = 1:38:24). The course is flat and all I have to worry about are pedestrians, other bicyclists, and wild animals (such as bobcats, armadillos, and snakes). I got a terrific workout. My average heart rate was 132 and my maximum 151. I burned 1,565 calories. The temperature when I got home was a glorious 73.4º. I listened to Mark Steyn as I pedaled.
